These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Undersignal ("Service"), operated by Undersignal LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Undersignal is a narrative intelligence platform that analyzes the structural and rhetorical mechanics of text. The Service produces analytical reports that score observable features of submitted content across 14 dimensions. All analyses are structural in nature and are intended for research, educational, journalistic, and analytical purposes.
Undersignal does not assess factual accuracy, legal liability, authorial intent, or the truthfulness of any claim. A high Undersignal Risk Score does not constitute evidence of defamation, malice, fraud, or any legal standard. Scores reflect observable rhetorical and structural mechanics only. The Service is not a substitute for legal, journalistic, or editorial judgment by qualified professionals.
You may use the Service for lawful purposes including research, journalism, media analysis, legal research, academic study, and professional intelligence work. You may not use the Service to harass, defame, or target individuals; to generate content intended to deceive; or in violation of any applicable law.
Certain features require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected at signup. All fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or as described in our refund policy. We reserve the right to change pricing for standard plans with 30 days' notice to active subscribers. This does not apply to founding members: the rate at which you subscribe as a founding member is locked for as long as you maintain a continuous, active subscription to your founding plan, and we will not increase it. Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of access.
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service for analysis. By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to process and analyze that content for the purpose of delivering the Service. We do not use submitted content to train AI models. We do not sell, license, publish, or share submitted content with third parties, except as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law. We treat content you submit as confidential and handle it as described in our Privacy Policy.
The Undersignal framework, methodology, scoring rubric, software, and all associated intellectual property are owned by Undersignal LLC. Reports generated by the Service are licensed to you for your use. You may cite, excerpt, and share reports with attribution. You may not reproduce or redistribute the Service itself or represent our methodology as your own.
Reports, scores, and analytical outputs generated through the Service are owned by Undersignal. Generating a report does not transfer ownership of that report to you. Undersignal may use, retain, and publish these outputs, including de-identified or aggregated insights and curated research or case studies, regardless of which user requested the analysis.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular score is accurate, complete, or suitable for any specific purpose. AI-generated analysis is probabilistic and subject to error.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Undersignal LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use or inability to use the Service.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Undersignal LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Palm Beach County, Florida.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify active subscribers of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
